Art Therapy is an established mental health discipline that incorporates creative art-making- painting, collage, sculpture and drawing- as a therapeutic tool for enhancing psychological and emotional wellbeing. Art-making allows children and adolescents to visually express thoughts and feelings that would otherwise be difficult to articulate. Once these have been externalized, client and art therapist are able to explore issues that have surfaced.
