“City staff and representatives from the Rotary Clubs have worked closely together to develop a successful plan to relocate 2018 RibFest from Mississauga Celebration Square to Port Credit Memorial Park. For over a decade, the Rotary Club has been successfully hosting RibFest on Celebration Square. As you would expect, the event has evolved over time resulting in an increased requirement for physical space as well as a need to institute an admission fee to attend the event. The admission fee limits access to the site for the general public, which is contrary to our current policy focused on Outdoor Events in the Civic District which prohibits paid entrance. These changes, among others, made it essential to investigate other potential sites for the event.” – Paul Mitcham, Commissioner, Community Services, City of Mississauga
“The Rotary Club of Mississauga and The Rotary Club of Mississauga West are excited about the upcoming Mississauga Rotary Ribfest move to the stunning waterfront at Memorial Park. We look forward to bringing this long standing successful fundraiser to the Port Credit area and being part of that vibrant community. We are committed to providing a green event that contributes locally and attracts tourism to the area. Can’t wait to enjoy some music, food and fun while we raise money to support the many community groups in Mississauga that benefit from the event.” – Natalie Hart, Coordinator, Mississauga RibFest
