International Overdose Awareness Day on August 31, 2023 at 7:30 p.m.
This annual event was started in Mississauga by Christine Inrig and Marie McKenna after the grief of the loss of a loved one impacted their lives.
Christine and Marie identified a gap in resources and advocacy for those struggling with their grief and have worked continuously to provide resources and education to the community.
Guest speakers will include:

Brandi Horvat - MSTH Member, founder of "Adam's March"
Jasmin Flynn- Peer Worker at MOYO Health Clinic
Eliza Chappel- Peer Advisor for Peel Drug Users Advisory
Lisa Price - sharing her story as a grieving mother
Jillian Watkins - Executive Director of MOYO Health Clinic
Nat Kaminski - Harm Reduction Outreach Supervisor at MOYO Health Clinic
Stephen Dasko - Ward 1 City Councillor
The evening will include an Indigenous drumming circle, the sharing of experiences, educational resources, and Naloxone training.
